Seriously… Who?!
Remington “Rem” King is a self taught artist who translated his designs to the focus of screen printing at university as well as digital illustration, large format murals, branding graphic design and additional mix media. Balancing pop art and realism, his works juxtapose subject, content, and even medium.
But wait, there’s more…
Remington King is a DIY illustrator who is giving a new voice to current pop culture by melding subjects, themes, phrases, and genres together creating a unique wave in contemporary nostalgia. Juxtaposing everything from Kool-Aid and Jim Morrison to Bob Ross and Travis Barker, his work is sarcastic, ironic, and postmodern.
With early interest in graffiti and street art, Rem took the heavy line work and bold coloring combined with the influences of punk rock posters, neo-traditional tattoos, and comic books coming together into a hodgepodge of Pop Art, yet the final product is an eye catching success.
In addition to his illustration and prints, Rem moonlights with brand design. Never shying away from different artistic mediums, Rem has a countless amount of influences that he accredits — including Banksy, Jean Michel Basquiat, Justin Bua, Butcher Billy, Glen Infante, Roy Lichtenstein, Madsteez, Markus Manson, Jim & Jimbo Phillips, RNST, and Ozzyoz Da Vyrus. This allows Rem to explore multiple styles and mediums to drive his creative diversity.
