Oh yeah…

“oh yeah…”

Initially a design for book themed around the word doors, the immediate association was made with the 60s rock band The Doors and subsequently their 1967 single Break On Through. Where most artists interpreted the theme in a more serious manner, the meddling of frontman Jim Morrison breaking through as destructive advertising character The Kool-Aid Man created a momentary instance of nostalgia and humor. This concept gained quick popularity which evolved into a larger canvas print. Influenced by other postmodern pop artists such as Butcher Billy, the comic book layout gives the viewer several hidden connections to Morrison and The Doors.
