About the Design
As an association embodying inclusion of all marginalized groups, that unity of differences needed to be appropriately displayed. With a request echoing a similar sentiment, the approach was a symbol that encompasses pride while representing all social identities; black, LGBTQ+, women, etc. In order to not be overt by utilizing recognized iconography, the focus redirected towards the terms connection and togetherness. The visual of being hand-in-hand; interlocked, prompted the notion of a chainlink with the positive tie to strength versus persecution giving a healthy reminder of the past, current action, and unified future to come. Built with the shapes of the organizations lettering, the palette shows the two interlinked pieces being between the difference represented in separate colors.
