In the wake of Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey’s 2017 article, nearly one hundred women came forward during the MeToo movement and were able to topple disgraced Miramax producer Harvey Weinstein. For decades the running narrative of Weinstein’s exploits as a punchline for aspiring actresses' big break onto the silver screen became a trope that became so disconnected that no one could truly fathom the legitimately heinous acts described in later testimonies. This dirty little secret was not too secret as multiple stories gained better context of particular actors and actresses subtly (sometimes directly) alluding to the pressure or consequences at the hand of Weinstein. So the next time you find yourself in Tinseltown, grab yourself a postcard. You always want to have something to remember your time in good ol’ Hornywood, courtesy of convicted felon Harvey Weinstein.
